Software Engineer

Acquisitions Systems Ltd/Pharmagraph is looking for a Software Engineer to join our well-established and growing engineering company.

ASL is an engineering focussed company that is agile to market needs to ensure we provide software and products that assist our customers in achieving regulatory compliance and are easy to use. A key strength remains in our ability to provide a turnkey project from design, build, installation and qualification through to system lifetime support and calibration which is only possible with our expert teams.

The role is based in Finchampstead and reports to the Technical Director. The Software Engineer will be in a team of software professionals responsible for the requirements, design, construction, integration, testing verification and maintenance of Pharmagraph’s own enVigil family of software products.

Roles & Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to the monitoring systems for Pharmagraph and ASL products:

  • Development of Windows software in Visual Studio C++ and C#
  • Utilise software engineering tools such as source code control, build processes and debuggers in the software development process.
  • Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code and design reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
  • Investigate current applications.
  • Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects.
  • Creation of software operating manuals.
  • Creation of software qualification procedures.
  • Test software products to ensure that they operate satisfactorily.
  • Provide training to personnel on enVigil software solutions.
  • Provide technical support to project engineers, sales engineers, service teams and distributors.
  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced software engineers.
  • Investigate new technologies.
  • Share expertise throughout the organisation.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years industry experience in a similar role.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Visual Studio, C++, C#, SQL, Visual Basic, ActiveX, InstallShield
  • Web Experience – HTML, XML, SOAP, JSON
  • Database Experience – SQL Server, ODBC, SQLite
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused role, delivering outstanding service.

Working arrangement

  • Working hours flexible with core hours required, working week considered 37.5hrs Mon-Fri, excluding Bank Holidays.
  • Early finish on a Friday.
  • Duties will be carried out at ASL/Pharmagraph offices in Finchampstead, Berkshire.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £55,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience.
